A) I found many more graphic design and ad agencies in the Portland area than I initially thought existed.
B) I just happened to get ahold of the head of AIGA Maine (American Institute of Graphic Arts) who was very helpful and said he will help me get plugged into the graphic design community in maine and hopefully help me find a job when I get there. I'm supposed to give him a call and we'll meet for a coffee once I get there. It's good to "know someone."
C) My parents got me a new computer for my graduation gift (they are so generous!)... so now I'm rockin' a brand new black macbook. It's pretty awesome.
There was one weird part about today, not bad, just odd. We went to Applebees for dinner tonight and they had about five different TV screens in there. They were playing a lacrosse game on two of the screens, the Mariners game, golf, and Nascar. None of the screens were playing the NBA playoffs! What is up with that? I wanted to see the Lakers/Jazz game not some crappy lacrosse or Nascar. I just don't know where these people get their priorities. So yeah, Applebees is weird when it comes to that, but of course it couldn't ruin my good day.
Also, Kobe Bryant is ridiculous. As good as Chris Paul is, I'm really glad he didn't steal the MVP from Kobe. I can't decide who I want to win the whole thing. Obviously I like Boston because I would love to see Ray Allen (Jesus) and KG win a championship, but part of me wants the Lakers to make it. That would be a fun match up. Two legendary basketball programs rejuvenated. I wonder how many Magic vs. Bird reruns ESPN would play if it was the Lakers and the Celtics in the finals. Probably a lot, but it'd be worth it I think.
Anyway that's all for now. And Monika, I'm glad I'm not the only one with some anxiety about what to do now that I have this diploma thing!
